By plane:
The closest airports are Münster-Osnabrück, Bremen, Hannover, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt a.M. and Amsterdam-Schipool (NL).
For flights from the US and Australia, Frankfurt a.M. and Amsterdam-Schipool are recommended. From there, direct train connections to Osnabrück are available.
For flights from many European countries, Münster-Osnabrück (FMO) is a good choice. There is a shuttle bus service that connects the airport to the city center.
